A backyard nursery in Eugene, Oregon.

If you’ve ever started tomato seedlings on a windowsill, our operation may look surprisingly familiar. You won’t find a lot of fancy equipment, or vast heated greenhouses full of thousands of identical plants. Nor will you find any of the latest patented varieties bred for the nursery trade—we don’t buy any plugs or liners from other nurseries to grow on.

Our plants are grown entirely on site from seeds or cuttings and we sell directly to local gardeners. Our goal is to offer as many garden-worthy varieties as we possibly can—at reasonable prices—while growing our plants as naturally as possible, minimizing environmental costs and ecological risks.

As a new business, we don’t have special certifications, but we use only organic fertilizers and no chemical pesticides. Our potting mixes are peat-free, and made from ingredients sourced from local Eugene/Springfield companies.

Nearly all our plants are sold in reused nursery pots, and we encourage customers to return them after transplant, so that we can continue our commitment to minimizing plastic waste.
