Solenostemon scutellarioides

Coleus

The quintessential summer foliage plant for containers. These are tender perennials— they won’t survive winter outdoors in our climate. But, they can look fantastic from late spring until the first hard frost. If you love a particular plant, bring it inside before cold weather and enjoy it as a houseplant until weather warms up. Also, our experience so far indicates that they like a nice easy root run— we have not had much success planting directly into our garden, which has quite heavy clay soil.
