Fragaria x ananassa

Strawberry

When our strawberries start bearing fruit in June, they never make it into the house. Hopefully, that is because we eat them on the spot, rather than finding the slugs got to them first. They are a breeze to grow, they propagate themselves by runners, but they are delicious to every living creature. Don’t be discouraged— the fruit is worth the effort— but plan ahead and be ready to employ every tactic you can think of to ensure you are the one to enjoy them.
